I’m getting a ton of responses by email from friends and family right now. I kindly asked if they would visit our company site and give us feedback. Some never heard of blogging, but would be glad to visit. Others refused it saying it was information overload and that email was sufficient. Some don’t have internet. Some don’t have computers at home. Some argued that they already are fans on our Facebook page. Others stated they couldn’t post a comment. Some argued that my wife, Edith, should blog about Latina issues. And, others totally loved it and replied with sentiments like, “I think it takes an incredible amount of optimism, smarts, and raw enthusiasm; all traits that you have an abundance of… Your constant updates are insightful and entertaining journalism. You are definitetly an inspiration to many more people than you are aware of, me included. Keep on doing your thing man.” Another friend provided great feedback specifically on correct use of grammar. The majority think this blog could serve a great resource to Latino youth.
Why I Blog. What It Can Teach You and Me.
Prior to blogging there was email. You would sit at your computer and fire off email to one or more people. They in turn could forward that email to others or delete it right on the spot. Previous to this was the telephone and fax. If you wanted to put some content out there you either called someone directly or sent them a fax. In my perspective, blogging encompasses all of this in writing and its online. This blog you are reading can only be read from your computer or mobile device.
What Are Your Fears? I’m curious. I want to engage in a conversation and help teach you how blogging can spur your creativity, improve your reading and writing skills all without paying a dime, and enable you to publish your thoughts. As a former high school drop-out that refused to read anything but magazines and Garfield, I’ve come to realize that blogging is a very powerful tool that up until recently wasn’t accessible to the general public. Next post is part 2. Glad your staying with me.
