Hola!
Greetings on the last Friday of this decade! We wanted to briefly touch bases on where we are at, expanded services, bilingual leadership and bilingual talent doing it right.
Direct Hire. Blogging. Bilingual Career Classifieds. Now Staffing.
We’re proud to announce that we’ve expanded our services into temporary staffing, and proudly join the ranks of the Oregon Staffing and American Staffing Association. This time last year we announced a partnership with a local web development company to develop a classified, recruitment and candidate online system, regrettably it did not pan out as planned and David is now learning how to build mobile/web applications to improve how we go to work. In English, this means we are digging into our business and understanding, and busy building to improve how we serve you.
As alway we’ll continue to bring you company news & insights through our blog and from time to time keep you posted via this newsletter.
Why BilingualHire?
Since our very first placement at the Linfield College School of Nursing we’ve very much enjoyed a huge sense of satisfaction standing witness to the profound and life changing direction in our candidates. Seeing them develop personally and produce phenomenal results for their professions and our communities is why we do this.

Bilingual Leadership.
It’s not enough for government, institutions, businesses and non-profits to have a few bilingual skilled workers. To meet the needs and demands of a changing U.S. market and competitive global environment, we are advising organizations to develop, mentor & coach their bilingual talent to prepare and lead their organizations to meet these needs and demands head-on. Ready. Set. Go.
Bilingual Talent Doing It Right.
Over the years we’ve come across so much bilingual talent that it would fill your entire inbox, and we often highlight them in our blog. Here, we want to just take a moment to recognize four individuals that are doing it right in various industries. We want to recognize them for extraordinary accomplishments expected above and beyond.
Maria Caballero Rubio, a former candidate for Multnomah County Commissioner now serving the partners, clients and community-based organizations of United Way of Greater Portland. We applaud Rubio for her courageous, dedicated and gracious run for elected office. Let’s go folks. Run.
MEChA, a student-founded and student-run organization that promotes education for all and giving back to the community. Nationally, regionally, and locally the run campus-community campaigns that work to close the achievement gap in our high schools and their persistent push to graduate more underrepresented students in our colleges is impressive, but most notable was their activism to pass the DREAM Act making tens of thousands of phone calls and letters to Congress and using social media tactics to engage their families and friends.
Mauricio Sanchez, a writer, producer, entrepreneur at AlegreTV, a Portland, OR-based Spanish media company is doing it right. The AlegreTV magazine, and TV shows highlight local news, entertainment and community events and their abilities to utilize and engage their audiences in Spanish & English through social media channels is impressive. Follow them on Twitter or Fan them on Facebook, today.
Maria Cobarrubias, hails from Hood River, Oregon, a recent graduate of Whittier Law School and now a practicing attorney in the City of Los Angeles is impressive enough, however, her work in the community past and present is equally impressive. Intelligent, good sense of humor and someone doing it right.
Diego Hernandez, a 2010 graduate of the University of Oregon now a graduate student at Portland State University led community-organizing campaigns this summer. Previous to that he helped peers at the Duck school run and win student government offices. In 2010, he also volunteered and supported Oregon Commission on Hispanic Affairs legislative efforts.
If you haven’t met these four fine individuals and the MEChistAs, you must. Personable, reliable, forward-thinking and selfless. Bilingual talent & organizations that are doing it right.
